We, the workers of Meow Wolf, in solidarity with our fellow artists and peers, are the Meow Wolf Workers Collective.
The Meow Wolf Workers Collective believes radical creativity can change minds, lives, and the world around us. At Meow Wolf, the beating heart of that creativity is us: the company’s collaborative force of artists and workers. We want to continue to create radical art and inspire others. And to do that, we unionized.
Every day at work we collaborate in ways that make us better artists. When we work together, everyone succeeds. When the needs of the individual are balanced against the needs of the group, and each is nurtured, everyone thrives. This is the ideal that built the House of Eternal Return. This is the ideal that made Meow Wolf a success.
We believe Meow Wolf has what it takes to move beyond the status quo of our industry peers. Meow Wolf can be a beacon for working creatives around the world. As a collective, we asked Meow Wolf to stand by its progressive, radical roots and recognize our union. When a majority of workers voted in favor, Meow Wolf voluntarily recognized our union in October 2020.
Upon recognition, the Meow Wolf Workers Collective proudly joined the Communication Workers of America Local 7055.
On April 15, 2022 we ratified our first contract. In doing so, we collaborated with management to center the needs of workers by seeking employment protections, equitable pay practices, inclusive opportunities for career growth and creativity, and a diverse workplace that is free from discrimination and harassment.
Meow Wolf taught us art should always be a radical endeavor. Unionizing is an art in itself. It requires time, effort, listening, and creativity. In short, it’s a collaboration. Meow Wolf also taught us to rethink the way we work together. Now Meow Wolf is rethinking the way it works with us.
When we work together, we build worlds.
In Solidarity (from one end of the Multiverse to the other),
